- Tuukka Hastrup
[edit] What is done right now:
Please add what SIOC related things applications you are working on now / are planning to do:
[edit] Microblogging
Alex is making a Twitter-like microblogging application in the semantic web way. It allows you to produce SIOC Posts saved locally on your webserver, then you ping microblogging server which displays it with Exhibit.
[edit] PlanetPHP exporter
To use for John's planet.journals.ie - Thomas (for other tasks see also User:Thosch)
[edit] Which applications should be done next
See also Whiteboard 3
What are the most imprtant things that should be done next? Everyone should attach a weight of how important an item is to him/her - e.g. distribute a total of 10 points between the applications. Also write comments and say what you can personally take ownership of.
[edit] Distributed conversation tracking
Build an application providing blog and forum users a way to do follow conversation on differnt site - similar to coComment or Disqus
Votes and Comments:
[edit] Visualisation
Cosmin suggested an app doing some (not SIOC specific) data visualisation in browser, 3D navigation - he might want to demo somehting on that topic?
Votes and Comments:
[edit] SIOC Feed Reader
Expanding Straw or Buxon so that you can subscribe to SIOC feeds in order to follow blogs, blog comments, web forum threads etc.
Votes and Comments:
[edit] Use of RDFa
Use RDFa (in current or new exporters?) for having some more typed information inside posts, like structured blogging.
Votes and Comments:
[edit] Data portability plugins
Importers for blogs, forums...
Votes and Comments:
[edit] "SPARQLPRESS"
"SPARQLPRESS" - have a RDF store to a blog or a community site, so that all content which is created, is also put in the store - so each site has a companion RDF store that is being worked on in Drupal - people can query directly the content of drupal, but not in a SQL way but in a SPARQL way that is a research or implemenatation question - when will you run into problems when people run expensive querys. DOS you could have limits on queries or have preset querys that people can run - like a web service
Votes and Comments:
[edit] Miscellaneous
[edit] SIOC Discovery
Four possible architectures (also see Whiteboard 1):
- True Peer-to-peer
- P2P with SuperNodes
- Centrally stored - like Sindice
- Store data in the applications end-user-oriented (e.g. an application like a feed reader collects only the data the user wants)
[edit] SIOC Branding
We need SIOC logos for applications and branding - meeting abour branding? SIOC slogan - SIOC you? SIOC yourself?
[edit] Name for SIOC browser
Name for SIOC browser needed - as it is now not SIOC specific anymore but a generic RDF browser
Put your suggestions here: Udlis: Something like Data-R-Us Thomas: Datasaurus (datasaur.us)
[edit] Add SIOC apps to SemWeb catalogs
Adding SIOC applications to semantic web catalouges - which are there?
- If anyone sees a wiki where SIOC would belong - add it.
- Everyone should create a doap.rdf files for their SIOC projects. It needs a foaf:topic_interest pointing to SIOC on DBpedia (although foaf:topic_interest has foaf:Person for the domain). Send the link of your doap file to Ping the semantic web and Alex' DOAP store will get it.
- Alex agrees to nag people about creating DOAP files.
- There is this semantic web education and outreach on ESW wiki and there is only openlink as SIOC application → change that.
[edit] SIOC Podcast
We might interview business users of SIOC
[edit] SIOC usage patterns
How is SIOC data used? Do quantitative and/or qualitative analysis.
[edit] Add news aggregator to sioc-project.org
Add a news aggregator to sioc-project.org that gathers all the news about SIOC as Drupal provides that possiblity. Currently the cron is not running - Stephane takes ownership of that - but there are only two feeds at the moment. We had a two way link between mailing list and forum - is it still working?
